Essential Questions: What are the rules for correct comma usage? What are the most common grammar errors and how do you avoid them? Are there acceptable grammar errors?
Learning Targets: I can identify independent and dependent clauses. I can use commas correctly and avoid comma splices and fused sentences. I can use the correct subject/verb agreement. I can use semicolons and colons correctly. I can identify and use an appositive correctly. I can correctly use modifiers.

Student Assignments for the week: Students will engage in online grammar lessons each day, study key grammar terminology, and complete a formative assessment for each lesson. Each formative assessment may be retaken to improve the student’s understanding of the material. The three formative quizzes will be averaged into a summative assessment score.
