The WHS Faculty Band shares its holiday performance 2020 style for Windham High School students.

hey Windham high school semester Neil coming at you I hope you all had a restful break we will spend the time happily and safely with family and loved ones that video about to watch needs a little or seduction in the next so bare with me and we'll know in a typical year and just before the holiday break or School come together in the auditorium for the assembly you're the focus is on fun and laughter is our annual ugly sweater contest always brings out really creative entries and we have some good-natured competition on the process and finally our band often accompanied by student musicians perform a handful of songs all with the hope of putting smiles on faces and hopefully your candy Melodies In The Head for everyone as they head off and head home for the holidays obviously this year 2020 has been nothing typical about at the pandemic kept us from honoring this long-standing tradition back in the fall when it came out that we wouldn't be able to gather and celebrate normally we kind of came up with the idea of trying to put something together virtual for you all and what we would typically do though it's not live music it's the best we can do right now and the the song selected the message that comes with it very appropriate for our times our place and our circumstances we hope you'll get it and take its message to heart I have to inject little history lesson I mean I am a history teacher right during the Civil War was a time was unlike any other in a scale of hardship and strike for the nation and present Abraham Lincoln at the time. Was kind of known and missed a lot of off the horror of it to sense of humor and some people criticize him cuz I felt like he was insensitive crafts excetera primarily because he understood the importance of Shining Light to counteract the overwhelming overwhelming darkness that existed during the time. It was about lifting people's Fair it was about lifting those it really needed it in our own way we're hoping that this little gift to you is a way of I guess if you will shining a little light for all of you finally if all went to be as expected that you would have had this before we left for the break but again unfortunately 20/20 had different plans kind of putting this together from challenging it's all right but that didn't stop us or deter us from from it done in finding a way to make it happen for you all on a much grander scale in for you all personally we sincerely hope that what we're living through right now and what we're going through does not deter you from accomplishing your goals and seeing your dreams become reality in the future so that is our that are their biggest gift in the street law so fly like eagles peace hope you all enjoy baby children with no shoes on the beach slipping slipping slipping into the future slipping slipping into the future I've been flipping Jerry Reed
