Office Hours: Fridays, 9AM - 11AM

Essential Questions:  

What are the common elements of a text and how does an author use them to construct a narrative?

Standards/PIs:  

-I can explore the author’s use of elements such as setting, plot, and characters and how they work together in a text.

-I can explain the way in which the theme or claim of a text applies to the world, using textual evidence to support the claim.

-I can learn new words to expand my vocabulary.


Student Assignments:

-Students will review elements of fiction and take notes in class

-Students will read 3 Aesop’s Fables and fill out a “Fable Table”

-Students will use their knowledge of the genre to compose an original fable

-Students will learn and practice new vocabulary words
