French Week of 10/5

**This week is the last week of ODD classes for this session.  I hope that all students will take a little time each week to review their French work before we meet again after the EVEN classes.  Students will be able to remediate if necessary through Friday, October 9th.  

 

Course:  French 1B

Course Schedule: period 5

Office Hours: Friday 10am-12pm  *not available 10/9: teacher in-service day*

 

Essential Questions:     How do people talk about being and having?

 

Standards:   Interpersonal:  Ask and respond to questions about familiar topics; comprehend and produce vocabulary in appropriate contexts.  Interpretive: Identify main ideas, topics, and specific information in auditory or written materials.

 

Student Assignments: 

  • Practice of ETRE (3 pages in packet) due M/T 10/5-6 (review)
  • Mini-ETRE quiz M/T 10/5-6
  • The Verb AVOIR--practice pages to be handed out in class.

Course:  French 2AC

Course Schedule: Period 7

Office Hours: Friday 10am-12pm *not available 10/9: teacher in-service day*

 

Essential Questions:     How important is food culture in France?  What role do cafes have in French culture?

 

Standards: Interpersonal:  Ask and respond to questions about familiar topics; comprehend and produce vocabulary in appropriate contexts.  Interpretive: Identify main ideas, topics, and specific information in auditory or written materials. Comparisons: Describe practices and perspectives of a culture in which the French is spoken.  

 

Student Assignments: 

  • Quiz over FOODS M/T 10/5-6
  • VHL Unit 4B-practicing the verbs PRENDRE, BOIRE
  • Vocab of various shops/markets in town
  • Grammar:  Le Partitif:  Expressing “some” versus “all” of something 
  • Quiz W/Th 10/7-8:  exact topic TBD depending on student progress.
