Standards/PIs: 1) I can apply knowledge of major eras, enduring themes, turning points, and historic influences. 2)  I can analyze the forces of continuity and change in the community, the state, the United States, and the world.

3) I can analyze the physical, human, and environmental geography of Maine, the United States, and various regions of the world

Student Assignments: 1. Photo analysis of Civil Rights Era 2. Short research project on topic regarding the Civil Rights Era in US History.

  2. How has individual freedom evolved throughout modern history?
  3. How important is individual freedom in a modern society?

Standards/PIs:  I can compare and contrast the ideals and purposes of the founding documents. I can compare and contrast the purposes, structures and functions of constitutional governments.

Student Assignments: Document Analysis for Mini-Q essay regarding the Enlightenment Philosophers. Writing assignment on the main goals of the Enlightenment Philosophers.
