Good morning,
I want to remind you al that we're coming down to the wire this year.  PLEASE check your Infinite Campus grades/assignments for my class.  If you're missing work get going on it!  I have periods 2, 4 and 6 WIDE OPEN this week because my seniors are done.  So if you have availability and want help, EVEN IF IT'S YOUR OUT OF SCHOOL DAYS, you can come see me during that time.  Just send an email to let me know you'll be here.

Make sure you've read Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption to PAGE 71.  This will leave us 36 pages in the novel to finish.  


Also, you should be FINISHED with your career and college work by your first class next week.  Your presentation order/time will be set during our first class next week.


We have two weeks left.  We need to finish reading the novel (36 pages), get your presentations and annotated works cited pages done, watch The Shawshank Redemption, and complete the summative for the novel.


It's a bit of a push for the end of the year, but we have time and we'll get it done!

Please check your schedules on Infinite Campus for when you're assigned to come see me during pride blocks this week.  If you're scheduled for my pride block, you are IN DANGER OF FAILING THIS YEAR!!!!  Everything is on the table---if you want your grade to go from a 94 to a 98, COME SEE ME!  If you want your grade to go from a 27 to a 77, COME SEE ME!!!!

Hey folks, 
This is a blanket statement, but I am trying to reach as many of you as possible.  


There is a large number of my students who are in need of getting work taken care of to earn credit for my class.  Please check your Infinite Campus grades to see where you stand in English.  If you're not passing for the year at this moment, you need to schedule some remediation time for this class--either under my supervision, or on your own--as soon as possible.


The last year has been challenging as we have dealt with covid, so the opportunity for many of you to make up work that is long past due, is an exception to the normal remediation schedule within our school.  If you're nervous, embarrassed, or just don't know where to begin, please know that there is no shame in coming to see me or emailing me to help you figure it out.

Good afternoon!
Thanks for joining me on my ride to Naples this morning. Next week, here's what you'll need completed.

~Reflective Interview Essay (summative). Due Weds or Thurs, depending on when your class meets

~Reach chapters 16, 17 and 18 of ITW

~Mapping McCandless (formative check for 10--13, and 16--18) (SUMMATIVE grade combining the first half and second half formative check ins)--have the final MM sent to me by Thursday, April 1.

~We will have a full class Socratic during our Friday virtual class. I will have more info for this next class. It will count as a summative.

For homework between now and your next class, here's the list you should be working on:

~Read chapters 6 and 7 from Into The Wild
~Fill out the designated spaces for chapters 6 and 7 on your Mapping McCandless sheet
~Be prepared to show me your Mapping McCandless work during our next class
~have the mindset that there will be a quiz over Chapters 1--7 from Into the Wild next week
~figure our who you're interviewing, and conduct the interview for Weds/Thurs class

Hello students!
I am asking you to do a couple of things today (Friday, Jan 29) in place of having a whole-class meeting.

First, check your Infinite Campus grade for our English class. Make sure you don't have any missing assignments. If you ARE MISSING SOMETHING, please email me to see if we can get together and take care of it. If you are not missing anything, congrats on finishing your work for the first semester!

Second, check to be sure that you have submitted the most recently assigned work for The Catcher in the Rye--including: reading questions, the FINAL paper, and work from the past. If you have not submitted these, you will most likely fail the first semester. If you have questions or concerns about this, please email us!

If you're all done with the above assignments, get off of this computer and get some fresh air.
